• The United Missionary Primary Teachers Training Institute is only for girls/women. The primary objective of the Institute is the training of suitable Christian Girls with a sense of vocation who will be trained and after completion of the prescribed teacher-training course the successful candidates may go out to serve the nation. Suitable non-Christian students are also eligible for admission and are nurtured likewise.
• The Institute aims at excellence in teaching learning process and for all round development.
• The “would be teachers” are trained in activity based learning, development of creative skills, emotional and intellectual development of trainees and inculcation of moral and spiritual values to make them conscientious, responsible and dynamic future teachers and leaders.
• The Institute organizes various programmes, like workshops, seminars, orientation programmes, Special Observance Days, Annual Sports, Educational Excursions, Drama, Song, Debate Competitions. These will help students in Leadership Development.
• The Course offered is D.El.Ed (2 year – Face to face mode) with 50 intake capacity (as per NCTE norms)
• There is 50% Reservation for Christian (Religious) Minority students.
• The Institute has been producing intellectually sound, morally upright, socially concerned and spiritually oriented teachers. The students who have passed out through the portals of this Institute, most of them are well settled in their vocation with credit in different Government/Government aided and Christian Missionary Schools as well as non- Government schools in different districts of West Bengal.
We believe: Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is a progress; working together is the success. And these will institute Making of a Good Teacher; Personality Development and Empowerment of Women with value based approach.
The Institution therefore seeks to serve God and the Society through these educated and culturally inclined women trained and nurtured by the Institution.
The other distinctive feature of Institution is its Managing Committee and staff, who have taken up their work in a spirit of service and sacrifice, whether in the Management, in the lecture room or outside it.
